Yolanda Cuba


Yolanda Cuba, born in Gugulethu, South Africa, is a Chartered Accountant and an Executive Director of Strategy and Business Support at the South African Breweries Limited (SAB), a subsidiary of SABMiller.

Cuba joined SAB as an Executive Director for Development and Decision Support in September 2011.

Cuba served as Chief Executive Officer of New Bond Capital Limited from July 2007 to December 2010.

Cuba was a Corporate Finance Executive at Mvelaphanda Strategic Investments Proprietary Limited.

Cuba joined Mvelaphanda in January 2003 in its corporate finance division and was later appointed Deputy Chief Executive Officer.

Cuba was later appointed as Mvelaphanda Group CEO, making her one of the youngest CEOs in the world.

Cuba worked at Fisher Hoffman where she completed her articles in 2002.

In 1999, Cuba commenced her career in Marketing with Robertsons Foods.

Cuba has been a Non-Executive Director of Absa Group Ltd since 2006 and an Independent Non-Executive Director of Absa Bank Ltd since December 2006.

Cuba has been an Independent and Non-Executive Director of Steinhoff International Holdings since December 2007.

Cuba serves as a Director of Mvelaphanda Group Limited, Mvelaphanda Holdings, Total Facilities Management Company and Life Healthcare.

Cuba served as an Independent Non-Executive Director of Reunert from January 2011 to May 2013.

In 2006 she was recognised as the Top Empowered Business Women of the Year by Top Companies and was awarded a Youth Excellence Award by the Black Management Forum in 2007.

The World Economic Forum selected Cuba in 2008 as one of the Young Global Leaders.

She was also named one of the Top 20 Youngest Power Women in Africa by Forbes Magazine.

Cuba holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Statistics from the University of Cape Town and a Bachelor of Commerce Honours degree in Accounting from the University of Natal.
