WDBIH is deeply saddened by the passing of Dr Thandi Ndlovu – a remarkable woman, a leader, a businesswoman, a friend and a sister.
Dr Ndlovu was a selfless woman who was involved in various empowerment and developmental initiatives and who devoted her life to ensuring that women across South Africa, from different walks of life, were empowered and recognised.
“We will remember Sis Thandi as a formidable and tireless fighter for women’s rights. As a former Chairperson of WDB Investment Holdings during our formative years, she was always willing to go the extra mile in providing support to our young team of women professionals. She cared deeply about her country and was known for a hands-on approach to helping those in need. Our heartfelt condolences go to her family in this difficult time. She will be greatly missed,” said Daphne Mashile Nkosi, WDB Investment Holdings Chairperson.
Ndlovu was an Mkhonto Wesizwe (MK) veteran and the founder and CEO of Motheo Construction Group which was established in 1997. She served on various boards that included, being a Chairman of the South African Wine Industry Trust (SAWIT), Independent Non-executive Chairman at IFCA Technologies Limited and Director on the board of South African Women in Construction (SAWIC).
She inspired young professional women to believe in themselves and to pursue their dreams, regardless of the challenges they faced along the way. She strongly believed that nothing is impossible as long as you believe in it.
We have truly lost a legend. May her beautiful soul rest in peace.
