Solar Mining Services announces two new appointments


Solar Mining Services, a new dynamic entrant to the explosives and explosive related services for the Mining and Quarry Sectors, announced the appointment of two key positions.

Donald Motloung has been appointed as the new Solar Mining Services Business Development Executive for SADC region and Zoltan Bottyan, as the new Solar Mining Services Sales Executive.

The appointment of these key positions reflects the next chapter for us and is in line with our new planned long term succession strategy,” says Charles Hurly Marketing Lead at Solar Mining Services.

Motloung is a qualified Mining Engineer with strong project, business and general management experience. He brings all the necessary experience and leadership attributes required to grow Solar Mining Services with special focus on explosives supply and related services.

He started his career as Shift Supervisor in 1997 and worked his way up over 20 years as a Senior Blasting Technical Officer, Project Manager, Drilling and Blasting Superintendent, Field Services Engineer, International Business Manager (Botswana, Malawi and Zimbabwe), Product Manager (Global) and now takes up the role of Business Development Executive for the SADC region.

Zoltán started his career in the Mining sector as a Learner Official. During his first 15 years he gained experience as a Production Shift Overseer, Training Manager and  Chief Safety Manager. He then ventured into the explosives industry and in his 23 tenure he worked his way through the ranks to Explosive Engineer, Area Manager, Value Adding Services Manager, Business Manager (SA), Global Commercial Manager (Explosives), Business Development Manager Africa, Business Manager (Zambia), Business Development Manager and Program Designer (SADC) and General Key Account Manager. 

He joins Solar Mining Services as the Sales Executive and will be developing a competent sales force, establishing customer relationships and delivering customer focused outcomes.

His strategy is to break the old explosive mould of doing business and focus on the customers’ needs and delivering the perfect result for his customers.

Thabo Mphahlele is the BizNis Africa Head of Sales and Marketing. Mphahlele was previously MultiChoice Production Support Analyst responsible for developing and monitoring applications. At Nashua Mobile, he was responsible for application development and enhancing the web sites At South West Gauteng College, he was the IT Technician and Network Administrator. During his tenure at Double Digit Media, he was he focused on application and web site development for new and existing clients Mphahlele contributes as a Content Manager for BizNis Africa.
