Sipho Ziga joined Armstrongs Attorneys in 1997 and became a Partner in 2004.
Ziga is head of the Commercial Department at the firm.
Ziga has assisted various clients with merger submissions and investigations by the Competition Authority.
Ziga has a keen interest and specialisation in the resources sector, and acts as advisor to numerous of the multinationals with interests in Botswana, by assisting in company formation, due diligence, compliance issues, applications for licences and capital raising.
Recently, Ziga has acted, amongst other mandates, as lead counsel for the listings of Cresta Marakanelo and Letlole La Rona on the Botswana Stock Exchange and also as lead local counsel for the lenders in the financing of the Boseto Project.
On an ongoing basis Ziga carries out and gives advice on the law and regulatory environment in Botswana with regard to securities, financial instruments, derivatives and swaps to multi-national companies and international law firms.
Ziga supervises numerous due diligence investigations in respect of companies in all aspects of commercial activity and in connection with local and international offerings, takeovers, mergers and acquisitions.
For the past 16 years Ziga has been advising clients in all disciplines of corporate law; with a particular interest in Mining and Resources Law.
Ziga acts, on an on-going basis, for numerous local and multi-national companies with mining interests in Botswana by assisting in company formations; due diligence reviews; compliance, licencing, capital raising, mergers and takeovers and listings.
Ziga has been involved in all the major project finance transactions in the mining industry in recent years and is rated as one of the leading mining lawyers in Botswana.
