Sasfin Wealth appoints new Senior Portfolio Manager

Sasfin Wealth is pleased to announce the appointment of Jonathan Sieff as a Senior Portfolio Manager, based at its Cape Town offices.

Sieff brings considerable experience to the role, having accumulated more than 25 years experience in financial services, predominantly in the wealth and asset management and private equity industries.

Sieff joins from Ashburton Investments, where he held the position of Senior Portfolio Manager.

Prior to joining Ashburton, Sieff spent many years working in the United Kingdom as Joint CEO of Fairbairn Private Bank, CEO of Close Brother Asset Management (a £27bn wealth management business) and as CEO Principle Capital (AIM-listed alternative asset management business focusing on emerging markets). Upon returning to Cape Town six years ago, Sieff joined Prescient Wealth Management as CEO.

According to Clinton Sprong, Head of Private Clients at Sasfin Wealth, Sieff’s versatile experience and background in private client wealth management will be invaluable as the business aims to grow its Western Cape footprint.

“Jonathan is passionate about global investing and brings a very scarce set of skills to the business in that he has had enormous experience in multi asset class investing globally. This is going to become an ever-increasing requirement from our clients who invest offshore and Jonathan will play an integral part in bringing this thinking into the business.”

Speaking on his appointment, Sieff said he was excited to be joining Sasfin Wealth, a company with a strong heritage in private wealth management built up over many decades.

“Sasfin Wealth is a global investor sourcing the very best solutions to provide clients with real
diversification and growth opportunities. I look forward to playing an important role in showcasing the Cape Town office’s offering to local and foreign investors.”
