SA hotel named as Africa’s leading city hotel


Pepperclub Hotel & Spa, based in Cape Town, has been named Africa’s Leading City Hotel at the recent 2013 World Travel Awards Africa Gala Ceremony.

The Africa Gala Ceremony, held in Nairobi, Kenya on 16 October 2013, showcased and celebrated travel, tourism and hospitality companies from 31 countries in Africa.

Nick Seewer, CEO of Pepperclub Hotel & Spa, says it is an honour for Pepperclub Hotel & Spa to be recognised as Africa’s Leading City Hotel.

“Having only opened the hotel’s doors in 2010, this award is recognition of what we have achieved in such a short period of time, and provides us with further motivation to continue growing the hotel’s brand and status.”

Graham E Cooke, President and Founder of the World Travel Awards, said that the African winners recognised strive to set the highest possible bar to raise the standards of excellence in travel and tourism.

“Africa is a very competitive region for our World Travel Awards, and these winners continue to serve as an example of the most luxurious and innovative brands with unique hospitality products and services.”

Seewer adds that the hotel has also been nominated for the World’s Leading City Hotel title, which will announce its winners at this year’s Grand Final Gala Ceremony on 30th November 2013 in Doha, Qatar.

Now in its 20th year, the annual World Travel Awards were established to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all sectors of the global travel and tourism industry.
