Rwandan Top Bankers meet Afreximbank Executives

An African Export-Import Bank (Afreximbank) team led by the President, Dr Benedict Oramah, has held a meeting with members of the Bankers Association of Rwanda, which groups commercial banks and microfinance banks in Rwanda.

The Afreximbank team used the opportunity to present the various Afreximbank financing products to members of the Bankers Association and to provide explanation on how they could take advantage of the products offered by the Bank.

The meeting included a question and answer session designed to enable the Association members to get responses to any queries they might have about the Bank.

Joining the members of the association to the meeting was Claver Gatete, Minister of Finance of Rwanda.

Maurice Toroitich, managing Director of KCB Bank Rwanda Limited, is Chairman of the Bankers Association

The meeting with the Association was held on the sidelines of Afreximbank 24th Annual General Meeting (AGM). Activities marking the AGM began on 28 June with two days of seminars. It included a meeting of the Afreximbank Advisory Group on Trade Finance and Export Development in Africa, an investment forum, hosted by the Rwandese Government, and a trade exhibition, all of which took place on 30 June, before the formal AGM on 1 July. The activities concluded with a conversation session with President Paul Kagame of Rwanda.
