Redhouse Advertising, Kenya’s marketing and communication agency that was founded in 2013, under the Redhouse Group of Companies, has acquired the TBWA Worldwide license in the east African country.

TBWA Worldwide is an international advertising agency group headquartered in New York and employs more than 1500 people across 27 agencies and 24 countries in Africa under the auspices of Johannesburg-based TBWA/South Africa. The Agency is part of the Omnicom Group, one of the world’s largest brand communications holding companies.

TBWA’s decision to forge the affiliation with Kenya’s Redhouse Advertising is underpinned by the group’s long term ambition to grow its operations in East Africa and harness the vast integrated marketing and communications opportunities in Kenya, said Derek Bouwer, Group CEO of TBWA South Africa. Kenya’s importance to TBWA’s Pan-African ambition is supported by the country’s rapid economic growth, an expanding consumer market and its strategic location within the Eastern African regional economic block.

Commenting on the new partnership with TBWA, Koome Mwambia, Redhouse Group CEO welcomed the affiliation noting that it will help Redhouse Advertising to tap into a wealth of knowledge while at the same time harnessing TBWA’s global best practice.

“The affiliation with TBWA gives Redhouse Advertising access to global knowledge, tools, network and footprint that is critical in scaling up our operations across multiple markets in Africa,” said Mwambia.

Redhouse Group was incorporated last year to specifically rollout an integrated marketing and communications footprint in Kenya and the broader Eastern Africa region including Uganda, Tanzania, Rwanda and South Sudan. Last year Redhouse Group completed a majority joint venture with Kenya’s Media Edge Group, an integrated marketing and communications firm that includes Media Edge Interactive and Media Edge Public Relations.

Redhouse Advertising is headed by founder and Managing Director, George Ojing, who has more than 10 years of marketing and communications experience. Redhouse Group currently employs 70 people in Kenya.
