In this role, Vivan will be responsible for accelerating growth, driving the interdependencies between Sub-Sahara Africa (SSA) and the rest of the Africa, Middle East & Turkey (AMET) cluster and identifying opportunities to address the needs of Emerging Market consumers.

Since August 2014, Vivan has been leading the J&J Consumer Nordics business.

Prior to that, Vivan was Marketing Director, Northern Europe OTC and CHC. He joined J&J as part of the Pfizer Consumer Healthcare acquisition in 2007, where he was Regional Category Manager, Upper Respiratory, Central & Eastern Europe and Russia.

Vivan holds an MBA from Imperial College, London, a Master of Science in Intellectual Property Law from Queen Mary College, University of London and a Bachelor of Applied Science from Duke University. He has served as Chairman of the OTC Self Care Committee for the Swedish Pharmaceutical Association (LIF) since 2014, and from 2012 to 2014, was a Board Member of the Proprietary Association of Great Britain (PAGB) – the UK OTC trade industry association.

“I am looking forward to joining the Sub-Sahara Africa organisation, which has such enormous potential,” says Vivan.

“We will work together to increase access to our goods and services – bringing them to more of the 683 million people who live in our region, and making a real difference in consumers’ lives.”

In his new role, Vivan will address the needs of Emerging Market Consumers.
