Black Business Council elects Sandile Zungu as the new President

The Black Business Council (BBC) has elected Sandile Zungu as the new President of the organisation. He replaces Danisa Baloyi, whose term came to an end.

This follows an announcement earlier by the BBC to hold an early election to refresh it’s National Office Bearers.

Zungu is a well-respected and celebrated business leader and is the founder and executive chairman of Zungu Investments Co. He completed a BSc (Mechanical Engineering) degree at the University of Cape Town (UCT), a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (MBA) at the UCT Graduate School of Business and a Program for Global Leadership certificate at the Harvard Business School.

The newly elected leadership comprises of three female businesswomen and the youngest member to ever hold BBC national bearer office,Bonolo Ramokhele, a qualified chartered accountant.

“We are excited and positive that the new leadership will usher a new era and give hope to the black business in general during these trying times and era of high unemployment, slow economic growth, lack of progress with economic transformation and global protectionism,” said Kganki Matabane, Black Business Council Chief Executive Officer.

“The BBC would also like to thank the outgoing leadership for the role they played in steering the organisation under trying circumstances. We are confident that the new leadership will inspire confidence from our members, private sector, greater public and all stakeholders, as we shift gears towards actively transforming the black business landscape in South Africa and be the leading black business voice on the continent. We wish the new leadership well,” concluded Matabane.
