Magara serves as a Board Member of Anglo Coal Marketing Limited and Mafube Coal Mining Limited.

Magara graduated from the University of Zimbabwe with a BSc (Eng) Honours Degree in Mining Engineering in 1990 and had various management studies from European and African Business Schools.
