The 3rd Amazon Web Services Summit officially kicked off today 12 July 2018, at the Cape Town International Convention Centre in South Africa.

Mike Clayville, Amazon Web Services (AWS) Global Sales and Business Development Vice President declared that this is a unique time in history – during his opening remarks to an audience of over 2 000 delegates.

“I feel so lucky to be in technology right now at the start of such major trends,” says Clayville.

“The trend towards cloud computing I believe will be perceived as the most important technology trend in the history of IT,” confirms Clayville.

“We will look back at these times and we will recognise how important the things that we are doing today matter for the transformation of our industry and businesses.”

Clayville says that Agri-Tech and FinTech are benefitting from the current technology trends and are changing the current human condition.

“I encourage all of you to take this opportunity to learn as much as you can about these trends,” concludes Clayville.
