Michael Gibson, Samsung Electronics South Africa Digital Imaging Part Leader

Samsung Electronics is proud to announce that the company was awarded two 2014 Technical Image Press Association (TIPA) awards.

Every year, TIPA editors evaluate and select the best photo and imaging products introduced to the market during the previous 12 months.

“We are honoured that TIPA has recognised our commitment to deliver exceptional Smart Cameras, which provides an intuitive user experience, are easy to use and includes the latest technological innovations”, said Michael Gibson, Samsung Electronics South Africa Digital Imaging Part Leader.

“These awards recognise Samsung’s leadership in innovation and design as well as reflect our continued focus on delivering world-class imaging products that place consumers’ needs at its core. We are proud to be making it simpler for our customers to capture, instantly share and view those unforgettable moments.”

They take into account innovation, the use of leading-edge technology, design and ergonomics, ease-of-use, as well as price versus performance ratio.

Since TIPA member magazines range in content and goals, the award voting process benefits from a wide range of expertise. As a result, the TIPA Awards are bestowed by a majority of votes by the experienced editors.

The recently launched Samsung SMART Camera NX30 won the ‘Best CSC Advanced’ award, making it the best advanced compact system camera (CSC) on the market. Further, the WB50F received the ‘Best Easy Compact Camera’ award.
