FKene Mpkaru, Filmhouse Cinemas and FilmOne Production/Distribution Nigeria Founder and Group MD

Kene Mkparu has over 25 years cinema and film industry experience.

He is Founder and Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Filmhouse Cinemas and FilmOne Production and Distribution Nigeria, currently with a chain of 12 cinemas since December 2012.

In August 2016 he launched the first IMAX cinema in West Africa, in Lekki Lagos, Nigeria, complete with Signature Dine-in cinema offerings.

In 2008, as Managing Director set up and launched Genesis Deluxe Cinemas Nigeria.

Previously Mkparu was Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of FilmAFRICA UK, a production and distribution company that specialized in releasing African films in mainstream UK cinemas.

Kene was General Manager with Odeon UK (1991 – 2008).
