Justin Gomes, FoxP2 Executive Creative Director and Charl Thom, FoxP2 Group Chief Executive Officer

FoxP2, the creatively-led agency with offices in Cape Town and Johannesburg, embarked on the journey of digital integration in 2015 with the aim of enhancing their traditional above-the-line offering and providing clients with a fully integrated solution.

It is now two years down the line and the agency has successfully positioned itself as a player within the digital marketing arena, achieving recognition within the increasingly competitive and continuously evolving industry.

Following on from the three silver and one gold award at the recent IAB 2017 Bookmark Awards, the agency walked away with Ad Of The Year awards for client Ster- Kinekor in both the digital and integrated categories at this week’s Creative Circle Awards.

The Annual Creative Circle Awards were held in Sandton on 24 May 2017.

The judges can only choose one ad per category as their favourite.

“For Ster-Kinekor Open Eyes to be recognised in three categories – Integrated, Digital and TV/Cinema/Branded Content speaks to the evolution of our agency where we place connected ideas at the heart of everything we do,” says Justin Gomes, FoxP2 ECD.

“Increasing internal and external demand for digital touchpoints and channels spurred on the introduction of a digital element to our services. Since, we have experienced phenomenal recognition for our digital capabilities as a complement to our creative solutions,” says Charl Thom, FoxP2 Group CEO.

With a history of digital wins dating as far back as 2011 – when FoxP2 was awarded the Inaugural Digital Ad Of The Year Award at the Creative Circle Awards for their Drive Dry Thunda concept (which also won the Roger Garlick Grand Prix Media Award) – the agency has spearheaded digital campaigns for the winning Ster – Kinekor’s Open Eyes project and the launch of Garagista Craft Beer. 

During the launch of Garagista Craft Beer it received an online reach of 80 million that saw the beer get listed in 60 retail outlets, achieving two year targets in six months. It also won an Apex Effectiveness Award, as well as a Loerie creative Effectiveness award.

“The FoxP2 team have the ability to come up with ideas that permeate popular culture and which lend themselves to being shared across online platforms. Such recognition stands testament to the level of skill, effort and creativity of this team, and the work for Ster – Kinekor has now received recognition both locally and abroad, which proves we can mix it up with the best in the world,” continues Gomes. 

“It’s particularly satisfying to see our digital and integrated work being continually recognised, as it  further confirms that it was truly worthwhile for the agency to grow its digital offering from the inside out rather than rushing to acquire a digital agency and risking a potential culture mismatch.”

FoxP2 has now embarked on establishing themselves in the content production space where clients require fast turnaround on smaller budgets.
