Albert Yuma Mulimbi, Gecamines CEO and Chairman

Albert Yuma Mulimbi is the CEO and chairman of a mining company, Gecamines.

Mulimbi is the President of the Congolese Employers Federation, Director at the Central Bank, Chairman of the Audit Committee and director of the Chamber of Commerce between Belgium and the Congo.

Mulimbi is credited with putting Gecamines, at the verge of bankruptcy a decade ago back on track and overseeing an overhaul of its assets.

Mulimbi has been chairman of the Congolese Employers’ Federation (FEC) since 2005 and Chairman of the Board of Directors of Générale des carrières et des mines (Gécamines) since 2010.

He is also Deputy Managing Director of Utexafrica, a subsidiary of the Texaf financial and management company, which he joined in 1983.

Mulimbi is a director for a number of Congolese companies and various institutions, including the Belgo-Congolese Chamber of Commerce.

In November 2011, he was elected to serve a three-year mandate as chairman of the Permanent Conference of African and French-speaking Consular Chambers (CPCCAF).
