After several months of development work by PEUGEOT SPORT engineers at a variety of European circuits, no fewer than 17 PEUGEOT 308 Racing Cups are poised to make their competitive debut in this year’s series at the traditional Coupes de Pâques de Nogaro Easter-weekend meeting at Circuit Paul Armagnac on 15 to 17 April 2017.
“The weekend before the start of this year’s championship, the PEUGEOT 308 Racing Cup provided evidence of its reliability, competitive potential and versatility by scoring a number of podium finishes in the international competitions for which it is eligible. We were delighted to see Team Altran Peugeot score a one-two finish with the 308 at the 12 Hours of the Red Bull Ring – which was a round of the 24H Series – while Team Autohaus Nett Motorsport came second in the second round of the VLN. We are now looking forward to seeing all the 308 Racing Cups in action within the framework of the exciting new SRO-organised Champion at de France des Circuits FFSA series,” says Bruno Famin, Peugeot Sport Director.
“The 308 Racing Cup has all the makings of being a very competitive championship. A number of RCZ Racing Cup regulars have been joined by a number of talented French and non-French drivers and youngsters. It’s great to see 17 cars registered for Nogaro. The figure would no doubt have been even higher but our priority has been on the quality of our finished cars. We believe we will exceed the 20 mark very soon. The calendar has six rounds: five within the framework of the Championn at de France des Circuits FFSA series and the sixth as a curtain-raiser ahead of July’s 24 Hours of Spa-Francor champs which will clearly be the highlight of the season,” says Laurent GUYOT, Peugeot Sport Customer Competition Programme Manager.p
